For example, the pigs eat snacks using their hooves in Wendell's bed, jump on his bed, hog the blankets (Get it? Hog?), play Monopoly and make phone calls. In this book the animals take on human traits. Teachers 1-4th could use this book in class to demonstrate what type of books are fantasy. ![]() She does not even make an appearance at the end of the book, but the magical pigs do. I only gave this book 4 stars though because I did not like that mother only had one role in the story which was to nag about a dirty room and then later having the boy asking his mom to clean his room. I think children will enjoy this book because they can relate to having a messy room and not wanting to clean it. ![]() Every time Wendell's room gets messier another pig shows up. There are pigs that only Wendell can see living in his pigsty of a room. ![]()

![]() Sadly, what starts out as a compelling mixture of old and new towards the Batman mythos, this volume resolves a lot of the ideas from before into a disappointing conclusion. Volume 3 builds on the ideas of its predecessors, such as Batman growing his alliances that began with Captain James Gordon and Killer Croc, and Bruce Wayne confronts his family’s past with the surprising return of his grandfather, Adrian Arkham. ![]() In recent media, we have seen multiple versions of the origins of Batman and his rogues gallery, from Batman: The Telltale Series to Matt Reeves’s upcoming The Batman, and the Earth One title continues the beginnings of these characters, albeit with a new twist. The formative influence of the Homeric epics in shaping Greek culture was widely recognized, and Homer was described as the teacher of Greece. Most modern researchers place Homer in the 7th or 8th centuries BCE. Herodotus estimates that Homer lived 400 years before his own time, which would place him at around 850 BCE, while other ancient sources claim that he lived much nearer to the supposed time of the Trojan War, in the early 12th century BCE. These epics lie at the beginning of the Western canon of literature, and have had an enormous influence on the history of literature. In the Western classical tradition, Homer (Greek: Ὅμηρος) is considered the author of The Iliad and The Odyssey, and is revered as the greatest of ancient Greek epic poets. ![]() |
